Garlic Fall Planting

This time of year I am busy harvesting roots for food and medicine or collecting seeds to plant next year.
It is also time to plant garlic. I have planted as late as Thanksgiving weekend but it is really more fun to plant on a sunny October day than a cold November afternoon.
I plant the cloves about 3" deep and 6" apart. It's a bit of work now but such a good feeling when you see them coming up early next spring.

This picture was taken in August after the garlic had dried for about six weeks.
